God, I am piss-off at you! After the second day of orientation for hubby's teaching position after being laid-off for four years, he comes home and has a stroke between 4:30 and 5:00. I am grateful the stroke didn't happen while he was driving home or while he was a sleep. And I am grateful it wasn't worse, that it has only affected the muscles in his throat and face on the right side. But really, enough is enough! How about a break here? I'm not happy about You playing craps with my life like you did Job's! Oh, and thank-You for not killing off all my loved ones!
UPDATE: 8/9/2014 Hubby is home and we are doing speech and physical therapies. He is still pretty Dutchy and the Cardiologist says he has a weak heart muscle so it is gentle cardo until the heart is built back up.

Bloody Hell!! I hope he is ok. Frightening xx
He is improving everyday. His biggest issues are speech and swallowing. There was no evidence of bleeding in his brain. No evidence of any blockages either, so they don't know exactly what happened. Physical mobility and cognitively he seems to be okay.
They changed up his blood pressure meds because his heart rate is too fast, the heart muscles are weak and his kidneys aren't working right because his heart isn't working right. He get to wear a portable defibrillator with a heart monitor as well. The boy is wired!
Judy, oh no! Oh no! How awful for you both. It's hard to have one life trial after another. I hope he's continuing to do well and improve.
Thanks! He's home now.
Speech is still an issue. I've found several enunciation exercises on the web as well as a web site for the lyrics to children's songs for teachers. The speech therapist said singing helps develop speech pathways in the brain. We have started walking the sidewalks around the apartment for his continued PT.
i'm just finding your blog and i just want to say, i am so very sorry!
my father had 3 major strokes a couple years ago the first one while driving. just awful! he just didn't feel good and pulled off on the side of the road. 2 hrs later found and taken to hospital.
they didn't expect him to live. he lost pretty much all functions including speech and his eyesight. he's back to playing golf 4 times a week now. which is amazing. he does tire out a little easier these days. sometimes he loses track of conversations and words. off most of the worst of the medications. it's amazing what the body can do.
i'm glad to read your husband's in the PT phase. sending you the best of thoughts and good wishes.
Thank-you for the thoughts and wishes. It is good to read your father is doing so well. I hope he continues to stay healthy.
Thanks for stopping by and leaving a comment.
